Manchester City and PUMA drop new kit for 24/25 season

English giants Manchester City, in collaboration with PUMA, have officially dropped the kit it will be wearing when the side tackles the 2024/25 season.

The side are looking to end the current campaign on the highest of notes as they have the chance to secure both the Premier League title and the FA Cup in their next two fixtures.

The Citizens are two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal heading into their clash against West Ham United; a win will see them be crowned English champions for the fourth consecutive time.

Following that, they will take on rivals Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup.

Next season, the side will be looking to once more stamp their authority on the world of football and based on their new kit, they will be well equipped to do so.

According to global sports brand PUMA, the kit is designed with the city in its fabric.

"The sky-blue kit features threads of 0161 in the trim – a reference to the Club's Mancunian roots," the company said in a statement.

"Manchester's 0161 is more than a dialling code. You'll see it written on lampposts, printed on t-shirts, and even tattooed on people. It's a sense of what being Mancunian is all about – a sense of location, no matter where you are in the world," it added.

"This season, 0161 can be seen woven into the eye-catching trims of the 24/25 Home kit and the world is invited to wear it, experience it, and feel it. From East Manchester to Istanbul, Northern Quarter to Norway, Moss Side to the other side of the world."

The side's Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail Licensing Serena Gosling said that the kit is also seen as a way to connect with the club's worldwide fanbase.

"Every year our kits provide us with an opportunity to connect with our fans in Manchester, the UK and globally, as shirts and wider kit collections, are an increasingly popular token of fandom.

"By incorporating '0161' in this year's Home kit - something that resonates so strongly with the City of Manchester - we're able to connect fans around the world with the club and our city in a different way."
