Dove Wome has disclosed how his salary was improved with the contract that he signed in making the switch from Mamelodi Sundowns to SuperSport United diluting the long-held belief that Chloorkop always offers the best salaries.
Sundowns have raided their Tshwane rivals at will for players through the years by offering better perks.

Yet for Wome, it was the opposite when signing his first contract with Matsatsantsa a Pitori in 2015.
"Sundowns always buys new players every year especially foreign players and, in my case, I was sacrificed for Mame Niang who came in from SuperSport," says Wome.
"The truth of the matter is that I never did bad during my time at Sundowns because I scored eight goals in about 20 or so appearances.
"Yet while we were in Zambia for pre-season the following year, Pitso Mosimane told me that he needs Mame Niang, so they want to swap.
"Stan Mathews (SuperSport CEO) then called me and proposed to give me more money than what I was earning at Sundowns.
"What I was earning at Sundowns was less than what I got at SuperSport and that is true.
"I went on loan to SuperSport first but before the expiry of the loan expired, I was offered a three-year deal, and this was actually the time when I was offered a salary better than what I had been getting at Sundowns.
"For that three-year, my salary was better than what I got at Sundowns, and this helped with my motivation and confidence," says Wome who scored 10 goals in his first season at SuperSport United.

For the 2015/16 season, Wome's scoring numbers dropped to five (plus six assists) and without improved fortunes in the first half of the next season, he was loaned to Orlando Pirates.
A SuperSport player being loaned to Pirates is not a common occurrence, but it happened with Dove spending six months with The Bucs.
"A player going on loan to a bigger club never happens, right?
"However, it happened with me, and I went to Pirates in January 2017 when they were not doing well under Augusto Palacios and then Kjell Jonevret.
"Pirates wanted me to stay on after the loan, but SuperSport requested that I should come back for pre-season as they were playing CAF.
"So, I went back for the last year on my contract but with six months remaining I asked them to release since I wasn't playing much under Eric Tinkler.
"At that time, I had been sitting on a better offer from a club in Dubai (UAE) for months, so I asked to be released in November and December, but they said no.
"In January, they finally agreed to let me leave without any compensation, but it was a mistake because the club in Dubai had already taken someone else.

"I then went back home to Togo after turning down AmaZulu and Maritzburg United who were offering me a third of what I had been getting at SuperSport.
"These clubs wanted to give me R50 000 which became R40 000 after tax, so I decided to go back home and after six months went to Latvia for a year then Kuwait (Al-Yarmouk SC) for two years then Iraq for six months where it was a problem.
"In Iraq (Al-Diwaniya SC), they paid about USD8000 (approx. R150 000) but the conditions were not good and you will be squeezed into a smallanyana downtown hotel eating chicken and bread every day.
"I went for three months without a salary which I never experienced in South Africa, so I just packed my bag and left, and that club is now banned from signing players by FIFA.
"Talking of money in my career, it was in Kuwait where I earned the best money because they always give you better money when coming from Europe," says Wome, who holds South African permanent residence but currently plays for Togolese club ASKO de Kara.
