Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi's tactics have seemingly been questioned by a club legend after a disappointing draw against Maniema Union in the CAF Champions League group stage.
After Sundowns' goalless draw against Maniema, Mngqithi suggested in his post-match press conference that they knew they needed mobile players against a side whose strengths are physicality and aerial prowess.

However, the former Golden Arrows coach approached the match with no playmaker in a line-up that had six changes from the Carling Knockout final defeat to Magesi FC.
As a result, Costa had to drop deep to try and make play, as the likes of Kobamelo Kodisang, Arthur Sales and Erwin Saavedra seemingly did not complement his play.
Former club captain Hlompho Kekana suggested that the side were predictable in attack with the line-up put up, with the Brazilian forward having to do all the work.
"We were playing at home, from the first whistle you should show and send the message that you're at home. We didn't see much of that, except that we saw moments of Lucas Ribeiro [Costa] a lot. I'm a bit worried with how we were attacking," Kekana said on SABC Sport TV.
"I think it's something we need to rectify because for us to get to the finals, these are the hurdles that will deny us to get to the finals. It looked that way [that Sundowns were not going to score even if they played the whole night]. Their attacks was only through Ribeiro and when he receives the balls from deep, the opposition defenders are happy because they play in front of them.

"We never saw Sales dodging the line and getting the ball from behind. It's only a few times we saw Kodisang on the ball, but there were no attackers on the ball. You can't scare the last line of defence. It was easy for Maniema Union," Kekana added.
The Brazilians will switch their focus back to the Betway Premiership, where they host Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday.
