REVEALED | Former Kaizer Chiefs reserve star among several players headed for Maritzburg United exit door

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tshidiso Monamodi is among several Maritzburg United stars expected to be heading towards the exit door at the club.

On Monday, The Team of Choice unveiled new club head coach Fadlu Davids following the departure of John Maduka and the 41-year-old is understood to be wasting no time in shaping his new team.

"He [Monamodi] is one of the players that could be leaving. He'll speak with the club now about sorting out his contract situation. If the club choose to terminate the contract they have to pay him his monies as well," an insider told KickOff.

Monamodi joined the Blue Army from neighbours Royal AM on a 2-year-deal at the start of the season and made five appearances for the side.

The versatile left-footer has had previous stints with Kaizer Chiefs' reserves, Wits and Royal AM before joining United.

The former South African youth international remains highly rated in the football fraternity and is unlikely to struggle in the search for a new home, with two premiership clubs understood to be following developments around his situation closely.

Meanwhile, more changes are still expected at United as Davids looks to rescue a side that's stuck at the foot of the DStv Premiership with just two wins to show after 13 games.

Ex-Orlando Pirates man Wayne Sandilands is also reported to have been roped in as goalkeeper coach.
