Sundowns took a giant step in their efforts to retain the Nedbank Cup trophy as they demolished Orlando Pirates 4-1 at Loftus Stadium on Thursday night.
The Brazilians are now set to meet Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the Ke Yona semi-finals on Sunday.
Mngqithi has since warned the Limpopo side to learn from Bucs' mistakes last night if they hope to beat them in Tshwane.
"If they decide to sit back, I think they [TTM] will make the game very easy for us," said a confident Mngqithi after the game against Pirates.
"If I was them, I will take the game to Sundowns because you have nothing to lose. I think their coaches are aware of that, when you play against Sundowns you better give your best shot.
"For me the best advice I give to anyone at this stage, why sit back? Because even Pirates tried to sit at the back and played with five in the second half and that's why they conceded a lot of goals when they played five at the back."
The Brazilians have not lost any match in the DStv Premiership but TTM remain one of the teams that gave them a tough time this season, when they had to dig deep to claim a victory against the Limpopo side.
"The only thing I can tell you is that it's an awkward team in the league. They have very interesting attacking players," said Mngqithi.
"It's unfortunate they are a new team and nobody is giving them as much respect and maybe they have also not found their feet because they had a lot of things happening within their team, but in terms of playing personnel they have dangerous players.
"We know for a fact that if they come at us, we will have a lot of problems. It's up to them to decide on the day, but if I was in their space I would say I have nothing to lose, let me go all out to Sundowns toe-to-toe, and maybe they will get something out of that."
