Pirates stir up ticket fever, to match Chiefs

Orlando Pirates' pulling power is set to match that of Kaizer Chiefs when Marumo Gallants welcome the Buccaneers to the City of Roses this weekend.

Pirates will be the away team at the Toyota Stadium on Saturday (17:45) in what will be another football jamboree in Bloemfontein.

The last time Gallants played in front of a full house at home was when Chiefs visited back in September.

Now, with the Black and White half of the Soweto giants coming to town, the general admission tickets sales are moving at a brisk pace with a sold-out sign expected before kick-off.

As of Friday, almost three quarters of the tickets made available had been sold.

Two thirds of the block of seats in the upper tier were already sold out, while in the lower tier it was the same.

An increase of ticket sales is expected on Friday, which marks the end of the month for those who get paid on the last working day of the month.

Though Pirates have provided the magnetic effect in pulling most fans, the hosts will have a fair share housed in the southern stand.

General admission tickets are selling for between R50-R60 and available both online and at the stadium's ticket office (Gate 5).

While the facility can take up to 46 000, a lesser number of tickets has been made available due to safety reasons.

Pirates won the reverse fixture 8-1 at Orlando Stadium a day before Christmas.
