He also shares the delightful story behind his unique and meaningful nickname, 'Ntate Moruti'.

What's your nickname?

"My nickname is Ntate Moruti."

Who gave it to you and why?

"The nickname was gifted to me by the late journalist, Sello Rabothatha, during my time with AmaGlug-Glug. Back then, I travelled a lot with the national teams and often led the team in singing and prayers in the dressing room.

"That’s how 'Ntate Moruti' came to life - reflecting my spirit both with AmaGlug-Glug and at Bloemfontein Celtic.”

Did you like it?

“I absolutely love it! It perfectly encapsulates who I was during my playing days, a true representation of my positive leadership style. Leading my teammates with a song was always my joy.”

Are people still calling you Ntate Moruti today?

“Yes. Even today, many in Bloemfontein and journalists from Lesotho continue to call me that. It warms my heart to know my nickname lives on.”

If you could relive it, would you want a different nickname?

“Not at all! I wouldn’t change a thing. As a coach now, I believe 'Ntate Moruti' is just as significant because motivating and inspiring my players to succeed is what I strive for every day.”
