Bobby Motaung: Kaizer Chiefs won't be rushed over coach appointment

Chiefs are still without a coach following Steve Komphela's resignation in April, with Patrick Mabedi overseeing things during the pre-season camp.

Motaung admitted that the coaches they want are not available but the Soweto giants will continue to look for the right person.

"The issue of the coach is a very sensitive issue. If you check what transpired last year and the past three seasons as a club, the chairman [Kaizer Motaung] is obviously overseeing everything. We got to make sure about who ever we bring on board," Motaung said.

"So it is not an easy job. Kaizer Chiefs is not like a small club where we just appoint tomorrow. We've got to look at a lot of things.

"Firstly, it is about the players, management, change room management. It is about tactical awareness. It is about maturity, leadership and about supporters. Remember our fans have expectations.

"We have to make sure whoever we appoint understands the pressure that comes with the job."

Motaung added: "Unfortunately, more qualified coaches who are quality are not available.

"We are not going to go out just to make favours and appoint because we are under pressure.

"We will rather be patient and appoint the right person at the right time. So we are not going to make promises or succumb to pressure."
