5 African stars who could be set for big moves this month

With the January transfer window in full swing, we take a look at five African stars who have been linked with moves to big clubs this month! 

With top European teams once again looking to bolster their squads, reports suggests that a number of players from Africa are being targeted.

With 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner Vincent Aboubakar believed to be on his way out of Al Nassr following Cristiano Ronaldo's move to the Saudi Pro League log leaders, the Cameroon international has been linked with moves to a number of clubs, including Manchester United and Fenerbahce.

Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze is another who could be on the move.

He is being pursued by Aston Villa, according to Football Insider, whose manager Unai Emery is said to be keen on reuniting with Nigeria international at Villa Park after their time together in LaLiga, although Liverpool are also thought to be interested in signing him.

Staying in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be targeting Barcelona star Franck Kessie.

The Ivory Coast international is reportedly at the top of Antonio Conte's central midfielder wish list, and has struggled to earn regular first-team action at the Camp Nou since making the switch from AC Milan in July.

Elsewhere, Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat continues to be linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

The Fiorentina midfielder's stock has risen since the 2022 World Cup, and a number of top European clubs are said to be chasing his signature, including Spurs and Paris Saint-Germain, per Italian outlet La Repubblica

Another Moroccan footballer who impressed at the global showpiece in Qatar is Azzedine Ounahi, who is also said to have been shortlisted as a potential target by PSG, although they may have to beat competitors such as Leeds United and AC Milan for his services. 

The 22-year-old was a key part of the Atlas Lions side that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup before losing to France.
