A CAF Champions League club has responded to reported interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly in their star striker.
Ghanaian side Medeama SC's president has insisted that while forward Jonathan Sowah has attracted interest from clubs on the continent as well as in Europe, they are not eager to let him go just yet.

The 24-year-old has made eight appearances for his side in the Ghana Premier League so far this season, netting on four occasions.
He was involved in Medeama's 3-0 defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League on the weekend, and despite being on the losing, is said to have made a lasting impression on the Egyptian giants.
Reports suggest that various clubs enquired about the forward's availability after that match, including the Red Devils, fellow Egyptian side Pyramids FC, and Sundowns.
Tony Aubynn, president of Medeama, has, however, since expressed his club's desire to hold on to their star forward.
"Now we do not want the player to transfer to any club, but perhaps in the future we will think about that," he told OnTime Spor, per Yallakora.
"He represents a powerful force for the team, and there is no specific price for selling him.
"... There are no negotiations between Al Ahly and Medeama regarding Jonathan Sowah, and we have several clubs interested in the player, including Egyptian clubs and European."

Sowah received his first international call-up from Ghana earlier this year after helping his club end the 2022/23 campaign as league winners, with the in-demand striker scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances on Medeama's way to domestic glory.
