Wydad Athletic Club have reportedly made a decision regarding their head coach Rulani Mokwena following an intense conflict with the club's fans ahead to the eagerly-awaited 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Red Castle supporters have turned against the South African coach, questioning some of his choices after the club's three consecutive draws against Botola Pro League leaders RS Berkane and FUS Rabat, and COM Meknes.

In response, the 38-year-old coach lashed out at fans, asserting that some of them do not want him in the team. This was not the first time the coach face hostility from fans as they once threw objects at him and the players in October last year for similar reasons.
The three-time CAF Champions League champions will represent the African continent alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, Egypt's Al Ahly, and Esperance de Tunis from Tunisia in the extended FIFA Club World Cup taking place between June and July this year in America.
Following criticism from the Club of the Nation supporters, reports suggest that the Wydad hierarchy continues to support the former Masandawana coach, believing he possesses the capability and skills to turn the club's fortunes around.

According to Moroccan news outlet, Le Site Info, Wydad management has expressed dissatisfaction with Mokwena's recent comments, however, their stance towards him has not changed, as they desire him to lead the team at the Club World Cup.
Wydad will begin their Club World Cup journey facing Mokwena's idol Pep Guardiola's team, Manchester City. They are also set to play against Juventus and Al Ain FC in Group G.
For now, Wydad, who sit in position three in the log standings, will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they take on IR Tanger in a league match on Sunday as they strive for the Champions Legue spot.
