Man Utd bounce back with thrilling victory

Manchester United 3-2 Nottingham Forest

Manchester United managed to come from two goals down to overcome a ten-man Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday.

It was an inspired start by Forest after Taiwo Awoniyi raced unmarked down the field from a United corner and poked past a sprawling Andre Onana.

Forest then made it two inside two minutes when Willy Boly field rose in the area to get on the end of a pin-point delivery and head in the bottom-corner.

The Red Devils dusted off the slow start and got back in the game around the half-hour mark through a first-time finish from Christian Eriksen in the area.

Buoyed by the strike, United levelled it up minutes in the second half after a ball from Bruno Fernandes allowed Carlos Casemiro to charge in and finish from point-blank range.

Forest task to regain the ascendancy a little later were dented as captain Joe Worrall got his marching orders for bringing down Fernandes in a dangerous area.

The Red Devils completed the comeback in the closing stages when a foul on Marcus Rashford in the area led to a penalty and saw Fernandes step up to riffle home and helped his side get back to winning ways.

Arsenal 2-2 Fulham

Arsenal's perfect start to the season came to an end as a ten-man Fulham managed to secure a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men were on the back-foot inside 57 seconds as a mis-placed pass in the danger area saw Andreas Pereira capitalise and scooped beyond Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal took a while to get going but levelled in the last 20 minutes when Bukayo Saka bundled in from the penalty spot after Fabio Vieira succumbed to a foul in the area.

Vieira was involved again a minute apart as he played in a delightful delivery for Eddie Nketiah to get hold and slot past Bernd Leno.

Fulham were down to ten players in the closing minutes when Calvin Bassey got a second yellow for a poor challenge on Nketiah.

However, the visitors refused to surrender despite the circumstances and snatched a point when Joao Palhinha got a yard of space to turn in Harrison Reed's pass.

Brentford 1-1 Crystal Palace

Brentford missed the chance to claim back-to-back wins after Crystal Palace survived a halftime deficit to steal a late 1-1 draw.

The Bees set their intentions clear when Kevin Schade drifted in-field after getting wide and send a delightful curler past Sam Johnstone.

Palace went to the break trailing, but managed to bounce back to rescue a point late on as Joachim Andersen poked in from close-range after Jordan Ayew's floated delivery.

Everton 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Everton's poor start to the campaign continued as Wolverhampton Wanderers left it late to secure a 1-0 victory.

After a dominant start, the Toffees missed a few good chances to go ahead but the lack of a killer instinct and good goalkeeping from Jose Sa denied them and it concluded goalless in the first half.

There were chances either end after the break, but Wolves got the winner with three minutes to go through Sasa Kalajdzic to leave the Toffees winless as well as rock-bottom.
