Haaland hat-trick maintains Man City's perfect record

Manchester City 5-1 Fulham

Manchester City made it four wins from four in the Premier League after thrashing Fulham 5-1 on Saturday.

Argentine international Julian Alvarez put the Citizens in front just past the half-hour mark with a clever finish from an equally smart assist.

Fulham did bounce back almost immediately as Timothy Ream launched a yard of space to get the better of City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes with a solid finish.

The champions were back ahead on the stroke of halftime when Nathan Ake pounced from a corner-kick, with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) seeing nothing wrong after appeals for an infringement.

Pep Guardiola's men claimed a third minutes after halftime courtesy of star striker Erling Haaland, who soon bagged a brace with a spot-kick.

Haaland was on the up again in added time when he made the most of poor defending to complete a hat-trick and see his side to an emphatic win.

Chelsea 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Chelsea were unable to secure back-to-back wins in the league following a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest out at the Stamford Bridge Stadium.

The visitors were ahead a few minutes in the second half after Anthony Elanga raced in behind to tuck a well-weighted through pass beyond goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea attempted to get back on level terms around the closing stages, but were not able to get beyond the visitors who held on for a famous win.

Burnley 2-5 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur continued their fine start under Ange Postecoglu with a 5-2 victory over Burnley as skipper Heung Min-Son netted a hat-trick.

South African international Lyle Foster gave the Clarets a fast start with his second goal in as many matches and set the host on the way to a maiden home win of the season.

Although, Vincent Kompany's men joy as was the case last weekend in the loss to Aston Villa were cancelled as Heung Min-Son levelled before Cristian Romero struck seconds to halftime.

Son, who holds the captain armband of the club these days, turned up in the second half and completed his brace to go the visitors an unassailable lead.

The damage on the Clarets weren't done as high-profile acquisition James Maddison got in on the act to continue his perfect start for his new club after joining from the relegated Leicester City.

Son stole the show towards the final stages of the match when he bundled in from sloppy defending and secured a hat-trick.

Kompany's man were able to get a second goal on board in the dying minutes through Josh Brownhill, but it didn't inspire any turnaround as Spurs ran out emphatic victors.

Brentford 2-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth missed the chance to snatch a late win after Brentford came from behind to force a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Thomas Frank's made the ideal start right inside the opening minutes in rather strange circumstances where Mathias Jensen's floated free-kick leaped over the wall and beat Neto at the near post.

Nonetheless, the Cherries raced on level terms on the half-hour mark after influential forward Dominic Solanke charged onto a long ball and cut inside to lash in the net.

Bournemouth looked to have sealed the win in the latter stages courtesy of David Brooks, but Bryan Mbuemo pounced to rescue the host a point from the brink of defeat.
