Roma icon Francesco Totti offered Pescara trial

The 40-year-old Roma legend, who made his final appearance for his beloved team in a 3–2 home win against Genoa in May, after roughly 25 years with the club, is not ready to retire from football.

Despite being offered a director's role with Roma, Totti could seek further playing opportunities, with relegated Pescara one club keen on signing the former Italy international, but only if he completes a trial.

Pescara boss Zdenek Zeman told Radio Due: "Totti still wants to play, and they want him over in the USA.

"He shouldn't be going into any ambassadorial role just yet, he needs to play and I hope he can do so in a major team.

"I spoke with him last week and he still wants to play, but it all depends on the conditions.

"I believe he still wants a competitive challenge, and to that end I'm always happy to give him a trial."

The 70-year-old Zeman managed Totti twice during spells with Roma, from 1997–1999 and from 2012–2013.
