Three clubs 'want' Mbappe

Three clubs are now reportedly interested in securing Kylian Mbappe's signature in this window, including two Premier League giants.

The 24-year-old is the subject of increasing speculation as his time at Paris Saint-Germain could be brought to an end should a potential suitor meet the French club's reported €150 million (R2.9 billion) valuation of him after he made it clear he would not be extending his stay beyond June 2024.

It is understood that PSG would rather sell him before the start of next season than lose him for free next year, although the France superstar has insisted that he intends to stay at the Parc des Princes for the 2023/24 campaign

According to The Times, three of Europe's biggest teams are now seriously interested in swooping for the France captain in what would likely be a club-record transfer.

It is no secret that Real Madrid are among those who are keen on the attacker, having maintained a long-standing admiration for Mbappe.

PSG are said to be skeptical about selling him to Los Blancos, however, due to the fractured relationship between the two teams.

It is also noted that Real are one of the few clubs who could actually afford the No. 7, although he recently denied rumours he would be making his way to the Santiago Bernabeu in this window.

The report also claims that EPL giants Chelsea and Manchester United are in the running for his signature.

The Blues' co-owner Todd Boehly is said to be prepared to pay the required amount to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge as the club looks to make up for a disastrous, by their standards, 2022/23 campaign that saw them finish 12th in the English top flight.

Having not qualified for any European competition next season, though, it is thought that it would be difficult to convince Mbappe to join the London side.

United, meanwhile, are said to have a better chance of landing the Frenchman, with the club's potential change of ownership likely to play a huge part in any potential deal.

The Glazer family is reportedly set to finalise the sale of the team, with Qatar's Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani still in the running to secure a takeover.

Should he be successful in buying the Manchester club, his arrival will see more resources being pumped into the side, and it is understood that he would keen to make a blockbuster signing or two, including that of Mbappe, as the Red Devils prepare for UEFA Champions League once again next term.
