Barcelona 'reach agreement' for Euro 2024 final MOTM

The Blaugrana have only confirmed one signing so far in this window, with the arrival of fullback Pau Victor from Girona being confirmed earlier this week.

The Spanish juggernauts have continuously been linked with Spain international Nico Williams following his sensational displays in the 2023/24 LALIGA season and the recent EURO 2024, where he was named the Man of the Match in the final against England to lift the European crown.

According to El Chiringuito TV, Barca have now reached a complete agreement with Williams' agent Felix Tainta over a long-term deal in Catalonia.

It is claimed the pacy winger will sign a five-year deal at the Camp Nou, and that all that remains is for him to give the final go-ahead.

It is further indicated that Barcelona are ready to trigger the player's €58 million (R1.1 billion) release clause in his current contract with Athletic Club.

Notably, Williams was also linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, among others, prior to EURO 2024, but Barca are now in pole position to land the in-demand Spaniard's signature.

There were concerns over whether or not Hansi Flick's side would be able to register Williams given their financial situation, but both LALIGA president Javier Tebas and Barca chief Joan Laporta are said to be confident he will have no issues being registered at the Camp Nou.
