BREAKING: Salah's Liverpool future confirmed

Following months of uncertainty, Liverpool have confirmed a major decision regarding Mohamed Salah’s future.

The Egyptian superstar has signed a new contract with the club until June 2027.

Salah’s original deal was set to expire in June 2025, but after several months of speculation and links to a potential move to Saudi Arabia, he has now committed to extending his stay at Anfield.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”

Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma in a deal worth €42 million  (R919 million) and he has since gone on to register in incredible 243 goals and 111 assists in 394 matches to date, as per Transfermarkt.

According to The Athletic, Salah will now pocket around £41.6million (R1 billion) in wages for the duration of his new deal.
