Paris Saint-Germain have now reportedly given Kylian Mbappe a massive decision to make regarding his contract ahead of the new season.

At the end of the 2022/23 campaign, the Frenchman announced that he would not be extending his contract at the Parc des Princes beyond June 2024.
The Bondy native re-signed with Les Parisiens at the beginning of last season, but while it was presumed that deal was a three-year extension, the last year in it is only optional to the player, hence the aforementioned announcement.
The record French champions are since rumoured to have initiated informal negotiations with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner over yet another extension, but have so far failed to persuade the France captain to sign a new contract with them.
While Mbappe has stated that he will not extend with PSG, he has remained ambiguous about his next destination, having insisted that he wants to see out the rest of his contract at the French club.
Now, though, according to L'Equipe, Les Parisiens have decided they are not willing to lose their talisman on a free deal, and have given him until 31 July to trigger the option of an extra year, or they will sell the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner in this transfer window, which could lead to him losing out on a hefty loyalty bonus.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi made this much clear at the unveiling of their new manager Luis Enrique on Wednesday evening.
"Our position is very clear," he said at the press conference, according to BBC Sport.
"If Kylian Mbappe wants to stay – we want him to stay – he needs to sign a new contract.
"We cannot let the best player in the world right now leave for free. That is impossible.
"... That's why he has to make up his mind next week, or in a fortnight at the most."
There is also a belief that Mbappe wants to leave PSG as a free agent next season as he would then be able to command a higher signing-on fee with whichever club he joins next, with many expecting that team to be Real Madrid.

The same report claims that the Qatari-owned outfit is reluctant to sell the ex-AS Monaco man as it could mean that they would have to sell other important players in the squad, throwing their long-term plans off-track.
