Man Utd star labelled a 'clown' for Kasi Flava antics | video

A Manchester United star has been labelled a "clown" after showing off some Kasi Flava skills in his team's 3-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday night.

Prior to the Red Devils getting their first goal in the European tie, Antony was seen doing a trademark spin on the ball before proceeding to misplace a pass.

His manager Erik ten Hag was visibly frustrated on sidelines with the overhit pass, being seen on camera shaking his head after the incident.

Antony was then substituted off at half-time, but the Dutchman insisted this action had been decided before the tie began.

Similar to some South African stars, the Brazilian enjoys expressing himself on the pitch and has often used the 720-degree spin when there is no defender anywhere near him.

United legend Paul Scholes is seemingly not a fan of the skill show, though.

"I just don't know what it achieves," the BT Sport pundit said, per the Daily Mail.

"I love a little bit of showboating and entertainment, but at least get the pass right.

"Does that do anything for anybody? Does that do anything for himself?

"I'd have to ask him – even at 4-0 up, what does that do for you?

"This country, any country, even Brazil. They don't want to see that, do they?

"I like to see skills and entertainment, I just don't think it's skill or entertainment, it's just being a clown."

In a post-match press conference, Ten Hag revealed that he is not afraid to "correct" his €95 million (R1.7 billion) signing should he feel it necessary.

"I don't have a problem with tricks as long as it's functional," the Dutch manager said, per BBC Sport

"I demand more from him – more runs behind, more often in the box and more playing in the pocket.

"When there is a trick like that, it's nice as long as it's functional.

"If you're not losing the ball, then it's OK – but if it's a trick because of a trick, then I will correct him."
