Ronaldo 'tells' Al Nassr to make Man City star offer he can't refuse

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Al Nassr to make a certain Manchester City star a huge offer he cannot refuse.

Ronaldo's influence at Al Nassr is thought to go far beyond the pitch, with the 39-year-old reportedly holding sway over some transfer dealings too.

Last year, it was reported that it was he who requested the signing of Portuguese compatriot Otavio from FC Porto, while it was also claimed that he gave the nod when it came to the signing of Alex Telles from Manchester United.

It is now reported that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is once again pushing the club make another big signing.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo has requested his superiors to do whatever it takes to sign Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgium international will be out of contract at the end of the season, and it remains unclear whether or not he will extend his contract at the Etihad.

The report also claims that Al Nassr would be willing to offer the midfielder a contract worth £1 million (R22.7 million) a week, plus a £50 million (R1.1 billion) signing-on fee.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told The Insider that De Bruyne could be tempted to leave England for Saudi Arabia now that he is in the twilight of his career.

"I think a big offer could be enough to tempt him away," Brown said.

"I've heard there are concerns about whether his legs might be going and whether he might become an injury liability after his recent knocks.

"If that scenario is true, then he would know that as well as anybody. He'll be looking at a move out there for a pay day. He can play at a lower level of football with less pressure but higher wages on offer.

"That's a decision he and City have got to make between them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that move happen."
