Done Deal: Juventus sign USA international Weston McKennie on permanent deal

Juventus have exercised the option to sign United States of America international Weston McKennie on a permanent deal.

McKennie (22) joined the reigning Serie A champions on an initial loan deal from Schalke 04 in August last year but has now seen his stay made permanent after the Bianconeri triggered their option to sign him on a long-term deal.

The talented midfielder has put pen to paper four-and-a-half-year deal with Andrea Pirlo's side after scoring five goals in 31 appearances across all competitions for Juve during the first half of the campaign.

"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. has exercised the option right for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Weston McKennie from FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V for a consideration of €18.5 million (R334 million) payable in three years," the Italian club said in an official statement.

"The consideration may increase up to an additional €6.5 million on achieving given conditions over the course of the duration of the contract. Juventus and the player have signed a contract of employment until 30 June 2025."
