An Egyptian coach has reportedly taken charge at Sudanese club Al-Merreikh SC, succeeding former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic.
Micho, as Sredojevic is affectionately known, resigned from his head coaching position at Merreikh on Monday due to unpaid wages, as confirmed by this publication.
Currently, reports from the continent indicate that the Glowing Red of Sudan have appointed former Egypt national team tactician Shawky Gharib to succeed the Serbian manager.

On Tuesday afternoon, news outlet Khaligyoun.com shared a statement, that confirmed the appointment of Gharib, stating that it had been issued by Merreikh.
"An agreement has been reached with Shawky Gharib, given his good track record," reads the statement.
"The contracts will be signed today (Tuesday), and he will travel to Mauritania within hours to officially lead the team."

Sudanese teams Al-Hilal and Merreikh are participating in the Mauritanian Football League because of the ongoing suspension of football activities in Sudan due political turmoil in the nation.
Merreikh are sixth in the Mauritanian Super D1 table with 36 points after 25 matches, with seven games remaining before the conclusion of the season.
