African stars are not only shining on the continent but all over the world too, and one individual rose as a giant among them with his performance on the weekend.
On Saturday, Brentford would undoubtedly have gone into their away clash against Chelsea as the underdogs, but came out as the superior side, with Bryan Mbeumo at the heart of their conquering of Stamford Bridge.

The Cameroon international helped the Bees secure a third consecutive win over the Blues as he stood out with a goal and an assist.
Now, after the dust has settled, the striker has an impressive six goals and two assists in just three league games.
Prior to that match, the Cameroonian had already been in fantastic form, getting on the scoresheet and picking up an assist to help his side to a 3-0 victory over a 10-man Burnley. His strike against the Clarets was one of splendour too. He attacked a ball that was laid to him just outside of the box with vigour, hitting it first time and finding the top-left corner in emphatic fashion.

His fortunes carried over to the most recent weekend, although it took quite a while to show itself. After absorbing a moderate amount of pressure from Chelsea, Brentford were able to stamp their authority on the match in the second half, when Mbeumo made a delightful little run in behind fullback Marc Cucurella before lofting the ball to the back post, where Ethan Pinnock ran on to it and headered the ball home to give the away side the lead.
Just when he thought he could be leaving the Bridge without getting his feet wet with a goal, Chelsea committed everyone forward in search of an equaliser, including their goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, which turned out to be detrimental for the home team.
Brentford managed to win the corner and clear the ball to the edge of the box where Mbeumo, perhaps motivated by the desire to increase his goals tally, won a header, knocking it forward to put himself and Neal Maupay clear through on goal. Sanchez managed to catch up to the latter who was carrying the ball forward, but he just squared it the Cameroonian for an easy finish that saw the Bees buzz to victory.

As a result of his weekend heroics, the 24-year-old has now been directly involved in five Premier League goals (two goals, three assists) against Chelsea, which is more than he has against any other side in the competition.
"Before the game we wanted to come and win. I don't think many teams beat them here three times in a row," Mbeumo said after the game, per The Guardian.
"We are very happy... [the supporters] love us, we love them, and we're very happy to give them the joy.
"We have so much quality and we will try to win many games again. We want to aim as big as we can."
His statistics thus far reflect the good season he is having. Along with his six goals and two assists, he has registered 2.7 shots per game and 1.6 key passes per match, showing his all-round ability as a forward.

Brentford, in their next fixture, will play host to West Ham United on Saturday, and Mbeumo will be hoping to keep up the good form when David Moyes and his men come to town.
