Wydad blast Moroccan referees, 'demand immediate action'

Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club have launched a scathing attack on the country's referees, citing "blatant discrepancies" and "repeated errors" that have severely impacted their results.

The Casablanca-based outfit, currently sixth in the Botola Pro 1 table, claim poor refereeing decisions have affected the outcome of several matches this season.

In an official statement, the side expressed frustration with the Refereeing Directorate's handling of these incidents.

"Wydad Athletic Club's management board has held several meetings to discuss the repeated refereeing errors that have negatively impacted our team's results in most matches," the statement read.

"These discrepancies change the course and results of matches, negatively affecting the Professional League competition and failing to meet the expectations of the Moroccan public."

The Red Castle criticised the Refereeing Directorate for offering "feeble justifications" and "incomprehensible excuses" instead of genuine reform.

The club demanded immediate action from the Professional League to rectify these issues and protect the rights of all clubs.

"We consider the continuation of such refereeing transgressions a direct threat to the championship's integrity, damaging its reputation regionally and internationally," Wydad's statement concluded.

"Wydad Athletic Club's management reaffirms its commitment to defending the team's rights and interests, assuring our loyal fans that we will spare no effort in doing so."
