FC Barcelona have now reportedly found their successor to manager Xavi Hernandez after reaching a full agreement with his replacement.
It has been somewhat of a bizarre 2024 for Xavi and the Catalan giants, with the coach announcing in earlier this year that he would leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Xavi reversed his decision in April, and a photo of him posing next to sporting director Deco and president Joan Laporta was posted on social media in a symbolic act of unity, celebrating the manager's decision to stay in charge for one more season.
Last week, however, the wheels came off yet again, with it being reported that Laporta was furious with comments made by the former club captain, who stated that it would be difficult for his team to compete with Real Madrid and other European giants due to their financial situation.
According to Bar Canaletes, Barca's president was infuriated by the fact that, during their showdown talks, Xavi had said he would win the UEFA Champions League with his current squad and one or two tweaks to it.

Since then, the apparent plan has been to sack Xavi, and the club has been actively looking for a new manager, evidenced by Deco's recent journey to London to meet with German coach Hansi Flick.
Now, according to Barca Centre, it is confirmed that Flick will replace Xavi as the Blaugrana boss for the 2024/25 season.

The reports claims that the former Bayern Munich manager will sign a one-year contract with an option to extend for another season if he meets objectives.
It is further indicated that Xavi will be informed of his termination after his final game against Sevilla on Sunday.
